Metric

Metric, a Canadian Indie rock and new wave band was formed in Toronto and have also been known to be based in Montreal, London, New York and LA.

Bandmembers include lead singer Emily Haines who also plays synthesizer and guitar.  James Shaw who plays guitar.  Josh Winstead who plays bass and Joules Scott-Key who plays drums.

First recorded an album in 2007, called Grow Up and Blow Away.

Their first real claim to fame came in 2001 when their sound and song was featured on a commercial for tv advertising Polaroid's I-Zone Pocket Fortune film.  They used their song "Grow Up and Blow Away" with the line "Why does it feel so good to die today?" changed to "Why does it feel so good to fly away?".  The commercial created interested listeners and sent them to the Poloroid's websites wondering who was the artists responsible.

February 28, 2010 they released their song "Black Sheep"  and it is on the soundtrack from the movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

June 8, 2010 Metric released the song and title track from the Twilight Eclipse movie, called Eclipse(All Yours) on the Twilight Eclipse soundtrack.

During October and November 2010, Metric will be opening for Muse for seven shows of The Resistance Tour.

Neutron Star Collision(Love is Forever) Lyrics

I was searching
You were on a mission
Then our hearts combined like
A neutron star collision

I have nothing left to lose
You took your time to choose
Then we told each other
With no trace of fear that...

Our love would be forever
And if we die
We die together
And lie, I said never
'Cause our love would be forever

The world is broken
Halos fail to glisten
You try to make a difference
But no one wants to listen

Hail,
The preachers, fake and proud
Their doctrines will be cloud
Then they'll dissipate
Like snowflakes in an ocean

Love is forever
And we'll die, we'll die together
And lie, I say never
'Cause our love could be forever

Now I've got nothing left to lose
You take your time to choose
I can tell you now without a trace of fear

That my love will be forever and we'll die we'll die together Lie, I will never
'Cause our love will be forever

First look at Muse single cover art...

The new Muse single was released Monday May 17, 2008 and is available as a bonus download if you pre-order the soundtrack through the official website. Muse singer and guitarist, Matt Bellamy wrote this single after a breakup with his girlfriend. With lyrics like "Our hearts combined like a neutron star collision.  We told each other with no trace of fear that.  Our love would be forever.  Love is Forever, and we'll die and we'll die together."

The initial reaction after the first look of the music video "Neutron Star Collision(Love is Forever)" has been positive.  Muse is outstanding as usual.  They deliver as always the music we know and love with  Bellamy's vibrato lead vocals and fast-paced instrumental background with an electric sound. I love the beginning slow and sweet, then it picks up, making me think of a good action scene in the movie.  I can't wait to hear how and where they use this single in the movie with Edward and Bella.  It's sound and lyrics remind me of an updated version of a music video of Romeo and Juliet. Being somewhat eerie but describing a deep love, especially the part-  love is forever and we'll die together, which perfectly describes the love story of Edward and Bella.  It's perfect for the Twilight Eclipse Saga.

Twilight Soundtrack-Bella’s Lullaby

Twilights' Bella’s Lullaby

This scene was really sweet, as the song is being played by Rob Pattinson himself.  He really does play the piano.  He is as he says himself, a musician first.  At the begining of this scene, the song also plays along a great part where Edward takes Bella up into the trees, where they talked innocently and laughed so intimately.

I guess you could say it is the love theme of this movie.  It is played throughout the movie at the most tender moments of their tension-filled romance.  You hear the melody first when he secretly watches Bella sleep after he saves her life and she begins to wonder, who or what he is.

The next scene you hear it in is the big reveal…Bella confronts Edward and says “I know what you are.” Edward says “Say it, Out loud, Say it! and Bella says “Vampire”  Edward-Are you afraid? Bella-No. Then for the first time he shows Bella his vampire  abilities.  He carries Bella on his back and races to show her in the sunlight what he looks like.  Followed by an  intimate and engaging talk about the “lion that fell in love with the lamb”, Bella being the stupid lamb, Edward being the sick masochistic lion. While Edward reveals he is this dangerous monster made to kill humans like her for blood, Bella is even more entranced with Edward. Then, the great introduction to the meadow, where Edward and Bella gaze at eachother while laying in a lovely flower-ladened grassy area,  all along to the beautiful soundtrack, Bella’s Lullaby. Song available on Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
